What Style of Property is Part of Your Australian Dream?

 This year, for the first time, we built more apartments in Australia than free standing homes.

The Australian Dream was always to own our own home.  Historically this included the quarter acre block, seeing our kids grow up in the local neighbourhood, inviting our friends to join us for a BBQ or watching sport on a Saturday afternoon after mowing the lawn. However, last year in Australia, we built more apartments than houses for the first time ever.   The Australian Dream now includes an apartment in the inner suburbs.

High-Speed Rail Update 26/6/2107

networking_people_connection_800_clr_1809A concept presentation on the High-Speed Rail Proposal was provided to politicians/advisors yesterday in Canberra. There was a good discussion with advisors of the Minister for Urban Infrastructure and Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, as well as John Alexander (Standing Committee on Cities, Infrastructure, and Transport).

The understanding of value capture and the realisation that cost to the Government is minimised is well understood by some, but not others.

The purpose of the meetings was to get a clear understanding of where the Government was in the assessment process. It looks like things will start to happen over the next couple of months.
